Swirling Blue Textured Vase
$75.00
Sold Out
This stout vase has quite a personality of its own. It holds a very classical shape to its body while draped with a celadon blanket of glaze! Between the cascading glaze are spots of the natural clay body breaking through, which has been beautifully kiln-kissed. This vase is fairly light and would do a wonderful job holding a small bunch of flowers! But of course it can also stand alone as it's own decorative piece.
This vase is glazed on the inside as well as the outside. At the very bottom of the inside of this vase is a small crack that appeared as a result of the glaze cooling after the firing. This does not affect the vase's ability to hold water at all! It is simply not recommended to store food/potable liquids within, but using if for a vase with water in it or as decoration is perfectly fine.
As the environment is a large portion of the inspiration in my work, it is also on the forefront of my mind when considering shipping, which is why I make sure to use 100% recyclable materials. The packing tape is water activated, which creates a permanent seal to the box and helps reduce the amount of tape I use (and since the tape is 100% recyclable/biodegradable, it can be recycled with the box itself!). I use a thermal printer to print out my shipping labels (using no ink cartridges) and the backing of the labels are also recyclable. Lastly, although I double-box my items to ensure they arrive to you safely, the boxes and paper-packing materials are 100% recyclable!
Along with the wonderfully grounding feeling of experiencing a handmade object, I feel that it is also my responsibility as an artist and a maker to provide you with piece of mind into the steps I've taken to reduce the amount of waste produced from my shop. The Earth provides us with marvel and beauty and I believe that through measures such as these, we get a little bit closer to experiencing our own personal fifth season.
Thank you very much for having a look at this unique piece!
