Small Bronze & Blue Mugs For Simone
$20.00
Sold Out
These mugs have a cool warmth to them that is exceptionally inviting. Their dark exteriors drink in shadow and when looked at in direct light, they all have a bright iridescent bronze luster. On the inside, and along their edges, they have pools of blue glaze which fade in and out of the bronze throughout.
Smaller mugs like these have always been a favorite of mine because they have a unique way of providing presence that a larger mug can not quite do, in my opinion. Instead of filling a big mug with a large amount of drink to help last for an indistinct amount of time, I have always felt that a smaller one, like these, help to slow things down and turns a quotidian moment into a treasure.
These all have a wonderfully light weight to them and have a very comfortable one finger handle. All these handles were pulled, which lends to a much more ergonomic feel in the hand. They all slightly range in size from 3.25-3.50 inches in height, and 2.5-3 inches in width. Each cup varies slightly from each other and holds roughly 8 ounces of liquid so they are perfect for making a small cup of anything a little more special! They are all food/microwave safe and I recommend washing by hand.
Each cup is sold individually for $30 each.
As the environment is a large portion of the inspiration in my work, it is also on the forefront of my mind when considering shipping, which is why I make sure to use 100% recyclable materials. The packing tape is water activated, which creates a permanent seal to the box and helps reduce the amount of tape I use (and since the tape is 100% recyclable/biodegradable, it can be recycled with the box itself!). I use a thermal printer to print out my shipping labels (using no ink cartridges) and the backing of the labels are also recyclable. Lastly, to ensure that packages arrive to you safely I take great care in packing up my item to send. I use paper-packing materials are all 100% recyclable and I reuse post-consumer packing materials whenever I can!
Along with the wonderfully grounding feeling of experiencing a handmade object, I feel that it is also my responsibility as an artist and a maker to provide you with piece of mind into the steps I've taken to reduce the amount of waste produced from my shop. The Earth provides us with marvel and beauty and I believe that through measures such as these, we get a little bit closer to experiencing our own personal fifth season.
Thank you very much for having a look at these unique pieces!
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me.
