Dark & Stormy Plates (Seconds)
These plates can be purchased individually or as a set ($25 each).
All of these lovely little plates are seconds, meaning they are all still great functional pieces but they have imperfections. These plates in particular are all slightly warped which resulted in them all having a small wobble when placed on a completely level surface. However, if placed on a more cushioned surfaced, like a tablecloth, those imprecations will likely be unnoticed.
In the video provided I wobble the plates as a demonstration of how they are slightly warped. The third plate wobbles a little extra in the video because of the uneven surface underneath. It is not as warped as it appears.
These plates are all hand thrown and trimmed on the wheel. They all have a wonderfully blue, brown and green storm cloud-esque tone to them as well as a satisfying feel when picked up. Each plate has slightly different patterning due to the unexpected nature of glazing. Additionally, these pieces have slight variations between them making each one unique, however, they are all part of the same family!
Each one of these plates measures between 9 and 9.75 inches in diameter.
These plates are all glazed and food safe! I recommend hand washing only because these pieces are not glazed on the bottom and dishwasher detergent could soak into the clay body if put in the dishwasher, which could degrade the plates over time.
